Don’t Yo Yo!

You’ve worked hard to lose weight so now it is important to make sure you don’t regain it. The last thing you want is to have to start a diet over again. Having been successful and lost weight, you’ll be feeling and looking fantastic and that’s the way you want to stay.

So many people manage to lose weight successfully, only to pile it all back on, and more, a few months later. This must feel so soul destroying, but it doesn’t have to happen to you.

It is important to realise that you can’t revert back to your old eating habits. Those habits made you fat and and they’ll make you fat again. You just can’t let yourself do that.

You don’t need to carry on dieting as such, but hopefully you’ll have made some lifestyle changes, so just be aware that you need to maintain your weight loss. This isn’t difficult to do and there’s no reason why you can’t stay slim and enjoy your new size for ever.

What You Can Do To Maintain Your Weight Loss.

Set a Margin

You need to allow yourself a range within which your weight can fluctuate. A fluctuation in weight is completely normal and nothing to worry about as long as it has its limits.

A gain of 3lbs is a good margin. It gives you enough leeway to enjoy a special occasion or holiday and is not too difficult to deal with.

It is far easier to lose 3lbs than 14lbs, so once you decide on a margin, stick to it. A few diet changes and it will soon be off again.

As soon as you see your weight reach the limit, deal with it straight away. This is how slim people stay slim.

Strict Diet Days V Easy Diet Days

Many people find that they find it easiest to be strict about what they eat during the week so that they can relax and have whatever they like during the weekends.

This could be a plan that works for you. Basically the overall amount of calories consumed each week needs to be enough to maintain the weight loss, but fewer calories are eaten during the week, allowing a deficit that can be eaten at weekends.

If you eat out frequently, you may find the way to do it is to be strict with yourself at home and then relax for the meals out.

Many people struggle during weekends or when eating out so it helps to have a plan that allows for eating more at these times.

Remember that there has to be some discipline if you don’t want to go back to being overweight.

Maintain Your Exercise Levels

You most likely increased your exercise levels in some way while you were dieting, so it is important to maintain that level. Exercise is a big factor in being able to maintain your weight loss, so stick with it.

Exercise will also help you to maintain a higher metabolic rate. This will have helped you lose weight and it will help to prevent you from gaining fat. Remember that lean muscle mass helps to burn more calories throughout the day.

Have a Treat

Treats are important. They give us something to look forward to, they reward us for something good and comfort us when we need it. If you try to deny treats you will soon become fed up and start to regain weight. Allow yourself a small treat each day or save some up for more at the weekend.

Take care though, this is where you need to be sensible. It is important that a regular treat isn’t too calorific. A Mars Bar a day will not do!

Choose something nice that will not ruin all your hard your work. If you really, really must have that Mars Bar, then have it as a once a week treat, but be sure to cut back on the daily treats. You can’t have both!

If you’re craving biscuits, have one or two, enjoy, and then put the packet away. A 100 calorie or so treat really won’t have much influence on your weight but six or seven of them will. Remember that and you’ll keep yourself in check.

Try a Weight Loss Product

If you go through a period where you feel you are struggling to maintain your weight loss, don’t give in. There are always going to be times in life when it is more difficult than at others. You may want to consider using a weight loss product for a while. Natural products such as like Proactol Plus, which is a fat binder or Full Fast, which is an appetite suppressant can be very beneficial to help get you past the problem. Proactol binds with the fat in your diet making up to a quarter of it indigestible. This is fantastic news when you have a special occasion to enjoy! Fullfast helps by curbing appetite so you lose those feelings of hunger that are so easy to give into!

Keep to these tips and they will help you maintain your weight for ever. Remember that a little self discipline goes a long way and remind yourself of the well known saying….

“Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels”.

People would pay a lot of money to be at the top of Google first page. Being at the top of Google first page would mean tons of traffic to your website. And having tons of traffic would mean that you’re able to sell your products to more people.

How much do you think the top position on Google is worth? It could be worth thousands of dollars, or it could be as worthless as the paper that this article is written on. What determines its worthiness?

Keywords are so important in order for you to have a successful online business that many ebooks and articles have been written about it. Many have tried to find the secret to a successful keyword research and most have done it through trial and error. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. But one thing is for certain, having the right keywords are important for a successful online business.

Take for example, the keyword ‘credit card’ which on average gets over thirteen million searches a month. Imagine the guy whose site is at position one for that keyword. Thirteen million free visitors to his site easily. How much do you think the guy makes in a month getting thirteen million visitors? Unimaginable.

So you too want to optimize your website with the keyword credit card but at what position will you be with one hundred and twenty-eight million websites also optimizing for the same keyword? You probably will not even be on the tenth page or the one hundredth page. So the keyword is useless to you as you can’t even rank for the keyword.

What if you want to get to the top position of Google by targeting a keyword with no competition at all like the word “Xynega”? You will definitely be at the top position of Google first page because you’re the only one with a website about xynega. But how many people do you think search for xynega? Absolutely zero. And how much do you think you will make in a month? Nothing.

This is what I mean that being at the top of Google first page can either make you thousands of dollars or it could also mean nothing because nobody wants what you’ve got. Finding the right keywords can mean money in your pocket.

So do you see now why keywords are important for a successful online business? Not just any keywords but targeted keywords that will bring you traffic. It is of utmost importance that you use keywords that people are searching for and one that you can rank on the first page of Google.

Breaking up is never easy especially if you’re the only one feeling that your relationship needs to end. It can become even more difficult when your ex just won’t let you go. He’ll continue to contact you and beg you to reconsider. It may seem quite flattering at first that he’s still trying to win your heart but it can come to the point when it gets quite annoying. When it reaches that point that you cannot take his begging and pleading anymore, you need to think of ways to let your ex know that it’s time to let go.

Be mean
But not to the point of being too cruel. If you tell him that you’re not the one for him and that you have many shortcomings and that he’s better off with somebody else, he’ll just say that he will accept you the way you are.

But if you tell him that he’s the one who is not right for you and have many shortcomings that you cannot tolerate, it can be quite mean for him to hear this coming from you.

But you want him to let go of you so you need to be a little mean so that the message that the relationship is over will get into his head. Be mean in order to be kind and to help him realize that the relationship is really over and that he should move on and find somebody else.

Ignore him
Don’t return his calls. Send back the gifts, flowers or anything that he might give you to woo you back. Don’t open the emails he sent you or reply to any messages that he might post on his Facebook wall. Just simply ignore him and regard him as non-existent. Show him that you’re no more interested in his life.

Display your ugly side
If he insist on meeting with you, don’t come on time. Be very late. Show up disheveled and unkempt. Embarrass him in front of others by talking and laughing loudly. Make fun of other people. Make him realize that you’re not as good as he thinks you are. Perhaps then he would realize that he’s better off just letting you go.

Ask for help
You might consider talking to his friend. But you must make sure that this is a friend whom he respects and whose opinions he would listen to. Tell his friend not to say anything bad about you because if his friend were to do this, he would get defensive and would try to protect you from such an attack.

What his friend should do is just tell him that the relationship is over and to move on with his life. Tell him the truth without embellishing or trying to convince him that you’re not good for him. Just lay it out as it is. If he were to hear it from someone else, he might see that letting you go is the best thing he can do for you.

It will always be difficult when you want to leave a relationship but your ex just won’t let you go. But you can be creative and think of ways that will make him see that letting you go is the best thing for the both of you.

Shampooing your hair every day will keep your hair clean but it can also make your hair dry and brittle. Wet hair is much more brittle and easy to break than dry hair. So if you shampoo every day, you may have clean hair but your hair would be very fragile and break easily when you try to brush it while it’s wet.

However, if you only shampoo occasionally or once in a while, that will make your hair seems dirty and lack luster. The dirt and smoke that your hair is exposed to would stay in your hair and make it smells and also will cause excessive dandruff which will make your scalp itchy.

At times you may even experience that your favorite shampoo isn’t producing the results that you’ve achieved when you first used it. Your hair isn’t as bouncy or lustrous as when you shampooed your hair the week before.

Nobody has actually come up with an explanation for this situation which is sometimes known as “shampoo fatigue”. Some suggest that this may be due to the buildup of proteins or other conditioning ingredients in the hair which make your hair unresponsive to the shampoo.

Many people switch brands but then “shampoo fatigue” occurs with the new shampoo too. Often switching back to the old brand will solve the problem.

How to have clean and lustrous hair but not shampoo it every day? Try using a dry shampoo which you can make yourself with all the materials that you can find in your own home.

A dry shampoo would imply that you do not wet your hair. However, your hair would be cleansed and would also smell as if you’ve just had a shampoo.

First, you need to get a shaker or an empty baby powder container. This container is to be filled with your dry shampoo which is made up of bran, dry oatmeal, baby powder or cornstarch. You may use any one of the ingredients or you may mix them up and try out which is the best mixture for you.

Apply the dry shampoo onto your hair using the shaker. You might want to pour it first onto your palm and then run it through your hair. This way you won’t have powder all over the floor instead of on your hair. Work the powder through your hair with your fingers and then brush your hair out thoroughly.

The powder would absorb the oil on your hair and leave your hair clean and smelling wonderful.

Using a dry shampoo would eliminate the problem of brittle wet hair and it’s easy to make as well with all the ingredients that you can find in your home. Dry shampoo is the best alternative if you need to clean your hair fast and not have to wait for it to dry or having to damage your hair with blow drying.

If you indulge in binge eating, you must know that it is one of the many problems that can result in obesity and other health related problems. For this reason, it is important to stop binge eating before it creates an even greater problem for you.

Instead of binge eating, there are many other activities which you can engage in that are easy to do. Below are some recommendations of activities to indulge in rather than binge eating. In doing the following activities, you can distract yourself from thinking about food all the time and therefore avoid binge eating.

Take a walk

Walking is a good way to refresh yourself. Enjoy the scenery. Immerse yourself in the beauty of the plants and flowers and the beautiful houses that you see along the path. Try and appreciate nature and take in the fresh air.

Make something

Produce something with your hands like sewing or painting. You can draw something which displays the state of your mind. It doesn’t need to be perfect. It’s for your eyes only so just draw to your heart’s content. You can also visit your local crafts store and get some craft which you can work on.

Make music

If you can play an instrument, make some music. Compose a new song or you can just follow the notes that you have. Music does calm your mind and you can avoid thinking about food.

Soak in a hot bath

Relaxing in a hot bath can sooth your mind and body. Get in the mood to relax by dimming the lights, playing relaxing music and lighting scented candles. This would help calm you.

Listen to Music

Listening to your favorite music will make you feel good and calm your nerves. You can also try singing out loud and this would really help to put you in a happy mood. Being happy would not make you reach out for comfort food and start binging.

Keep a diary

Writing clarifies your mind. When you write about what happened to you, you’re able to see things that you didn’t see previously and this would help you find solutions to your problems and would also make you feel better since you’ve unburdened the weight off your shoulders on to a piece of paper. You can also reread the entries in your journal and discover the times when you didn’t succumb to binging.

Talk to yourself

When you feel like binging, talk yourself out of it. Give yourself reasons not to binge. Write down these reasons and paste it everywhere in your house especially on the refrigerator.

Take a drive

Just go for a drive anywhere. If possible, leave your cash and credit cards behind. Don’t drive in places where there is food available if you do carry money with you. This way you’ll not be tempted to stop and buy food to binge on.

Talk to a friend

Having someone who understands your problems would make it so much easier to overcome your problems. If you have such a friend, call her when you feel like binging. Listening to some encouraging words will stop you from binge eating.

Read a book

If you need more encouraging words to stop you from binge eating, there are many good inspirational books available which you can read. Reading about how other people go through the same challenges you do will give you hope.

Binge eating is not something that you need to suffer all your life. You can follow the above suggestions to avoid binge eating.

Outsourcing simply means hiring somebody outside of the business to do some tasks, rather than someone within the business doing those tasks. The person (or business) you outsource to is not an employee and can be hired for just as long as it takes to complete the task(s).

For a small business with a low budget, outsourcing may seem like an unnecessary expense for anything you can do yourself.

There are numerous benefits from outsourcing part of your to do list but you have to feel you can afford to pay the invoice before you outsource or truly assess the value of outsourcing any specific project.

What will it cost?

Obviously the actual cost will vary between tasks you outsource – more skilled tasks will cost more as will precast that take longer.

However, all the associated costs should be included in the quote from your provider. That is, their time, materials and skills/knowledge will be in the price.

If they haven’t told you, then ask for clarification on details such as:

an estimate of time required for the project (particularly if you have a deadline or the quote is based on an hourly rate)

what is included – for example, does it include copyright, one or two rounds of edits and relevant instructions? I have clients where many edits are likely (because of the number of layers of approvals required) so I price those projects to include more rounds of edits than usual – think about your project and ask for such considerations if the provider doesn’t mention them

what is excluded – for example, a designer may charge more if they have to buy an image or fancy font to use in your design. You need to know in advance, and have the option for finding alternatives if you want save money

Assessing the cost

Like many things in business, there are a few factors to consider in deciding on the value of something. So let’s look at a few examples to see how outsourcing impacts your bottom line.

If you earn $20 an hour and outsource a task for $15 an hour, you are going to be $5 an hour better off by outsourcing

Let’s say you earn $50 an hour and need to write your website content. Because you are interrupted frequently and are a slow writer, this could take you 10 hours to complete over 5 or 6 weeks. A total cost in your time is $500.
Hire a professional writer at $100 an hour (don’t panic at that rate yet!) and she writes your content in 3 hours so invoices you only $300. You pay less and get your website filled sooner.
Even if you and the professional have the same hourly rate, their speed often means it is cheaper to pay for their time than to use yours.

Staying with you on $50 an hour, let’s assume you hate doing your accounts and spend three hours on it every month. If a bookkeeper takes over your accounts, you save three hours of stress AND gain three hours to work on tasks that will actually make you money. In other words, you can earn $150 in saved bookkeeping time – as long as the bookkeeper invoices you no more than $150, you are not financially worse off and probably happier as well.

It can be hard to pay an extra invoice, but it does make financial sense in many situations so next time you face a difficult task or have too much to do, think about your outsourcing options.

Firstly, please don’t set out about trying all the different ways listed here over the course of a week.

1. Your heart will probably stop after four days!

2. All of them are wrong except my awesome way!

So, since a child, a nice bit of roast pork has always been appreciated. On the roast meat rotation system, we had it about once every couple of months. And my family, being a fair-minded bunch of people, always made sure the crackling was equally divided.

But there were still problems associated with this – not all the skin had crackled up nicely, some was chewy, some had far too much fat on it….in short, not an ideal situation.

Crackling? More like Chew-ling!

So, here are some of the tips you may have read or tried in the quest for perfect crackling:

Rubbing in vinegar

Microwave after roasting

Covering in goose fat

Covering with herbs

Using a hair drier!

Not needed. There’s something a lot simpler. Grab your pork belly, follow these four steps:

Pour boiling water over the scored skin the night before cooking, put in fridge.

Before putting in oven, brush with oil, season with lots salt, bit of pepper

Slow roast for three hours at 150c, 300f

Turn oven fully on for 15-30 minutes to get the crackling.

Sorry for the vagueness of the last instruction, but it’s ok to check the pork every so often at this stage, and ovens have many varying top temps, and take time to get there. If you have a very efficient oven, 200c, 400f should do it.

I’m gonna throw a curve ball here and tell you why this is the best crackling – it’s because the pork underneath it is the tenderest you will ever taste!

You see, slow roasting the pork belly means all the lovely fat from just under the skin will baste the meat as you go along, something which won’t happen if you follow the very common advice of starting off with a very hot oven and turning the temperature down.

I discovered this technique by following a slow roast recipe, and after three hours I was shocked at the lack of crackle on top. So I whacked the oven up and got the perfect crackling that way.

And for the record, most people I tell about this feel the same way you do now – turning the temp up at the end? Madness surely.

Then they try it.

Then they change their mind

Running or managing a business (or the department of a business for that matter) can be a tiring job with many different tasks taking up your time.

One way to gain back some time is to outsource some of your work. Obviously, this comes at a cost but I believe this is often overcome by the advantages of outsourcing to a professional.

Plan ahead, and be open to outsourcing before you are overwhelmed by work or too busy to choose the right professional for your needs.

Here are some key reasons to outsource tasks such as writing, design, website maintenance, social media monitoring, bookkeeping, and general admin.

It will save you time. This is important as it will give you time to actually run the business (or department) or have a break.

It will often be done sooner so will start benefiting you sooner. A professional will devote time to your project (unlike you fitting it in around other tasks) and probably has more skills so can do the job faster than you anyway

Someone with skill may well give you a better result which is likely to help your business be more profitable. Think about the obviously ‘home made’ websites around (which is all I could ever do myself!) and how much better a professionally designed site looks and operates – which is going to build more trust and result in more sales?

You can get an objective opinion. A professional will not only see your project from their professional perspective but being outside of your business will often give you ideas about how an outsider (like your customers) may see the project. For instance, I often can spot the unnecessary points people want in their website content when business owners tell too much trying to make everyone happy.

You are building your network. Once you outsource to someone, they know about you and your business which could lead to referrals. If they add you to their portfolio of work, you get free advertising (possibly including back links which is great for SEO). You now have personal experience of a professional {whatever role it is} so you can give referrals to help your clients or you can sub-contract to offer clients a full service (such as when I manage the design of a project as well as write the content)

While it can be very beneficial to outsource some of your work, it can backfire if you don’t choose carefully – that doesn’t always mean hiring the most expensive person but it does mean considering their skills and professionalism.

Anybody who is diabetic or prediabetic or just concerned about their simple carbohydrate intake will probably lament the fact that sugar and simple carbohydrates seem to be present in everything. The only way to get around this is to shop at specialty stores, or to make your own food.

Here is a simple recipe for a diabetic-friendly pasta sauce.

You will need:
2 tomatoes
2 mushrooms
1 bell pepper
1 cup meat or vegetable broth (or water)
2 capfuls of red or apple cider vinegar
2 tbsp agave nectar (optional)
1 tbsp whole wheat flour
spices to your taste
pinch of salt

Blend all the vegetables in the blender if you like a smoother sauce. If you like a chunky sauce, like I do, blend one tomato, one mushroom, and half the bell pepper and cut the other tomato, mushroom, and half bell pepper into chunks. Mix the blended/chopped vegetables into a saucepan with the broth (or water), vinegar. Heat uncovered over a medium flame until the broth is boiling, and then reduce the heat. Add the salt, spices, agave nectar, and flour. Let it simmer for about twenty minutes to half an hour over a very low flame, stirring constantly to make sure nothing sticks to the bottom of your pot.

Feel free to experiment with the spice mixture. Basil, oregano, parsley, and black pepper are pretty standard for Italian cooking. I prefer to use non-intuitive spices, like cinnamon, nutmeg, and cayenne pepper.

You’ll find that the result is not only healthier, but tastier than anything you could have bought in the grocery store.

This recipe is enough to feed two or three people.

The Internet is called the information superhighway. The main reason for this, and for the internet to be become so popular so quickly, is the transfer of information.

No matter where you are in the world, if you have access to the internet, you can access a lot of information about nearly any topic you can think of. The ability to reach this information quickly and easily has a large impact on many aspects of modern life.

For anybody running a website, understanding this principal is crucial.

When people search the internet, they are usually after information. It may be technical information or it may be simple information such as opening hours of a shop.

The more information you provide on your web site, the more use it will be to internet users and thus the more visitors you will have to your site.

Obviously, any information you provide needs to be accurate and up-to-date. A website could tell you that wireless computer technology will be available in Australia soon and the advantages of that system. However, a little more research or first hand knowledge will tell you that wireless networks already exist in Australia. The information wasn’t bad, just out dated.

Even if your information is accurate and recent, is there any reason people should return to your site?

Only by adding and updating information on your site will people have a reason to return. No matter how good your explanation of html, there are only so many times people need to read it before looking elsewhere for more information.

Sites that regularly change and up date their information will have people visiting repeatedly, and this is a good reason for keeping your site’s content fresh.

Another good reason for increasing the information on your site is to diversify your keywords.

Keywords are the featured words to describe your site and are used by search engines to find you. When someone types a word(s) into their internet browser, the search engine will use keywords to match sites to the user’s needs.

Whenever you add information to your site, you can add relevant keywords to your page information. So if your original article was on html your keyword would have been html; if you add an article on java scripts, then you can add a new keyword and potentially be found by many more searches.

In other words, having fresh content not only makes your website interesting and alive, it can bring you many more visitors and thus business.
