I'm sure any biologist would put me in my place, but although our DNA is obviously very similar to an ape's - one of the small changes essentially says "produce an awesome brain".

That said, it was just that cats are closer to us than dogs was my point. And let's face it, a human that acted like a dog would be really weird - a human that acted like a cat would just be lazy!

Yes, the amount of jargon must suit the audience.

The point I was making was more about keyword choice - some people use their terms as keywords rather than thinking what their readers would use in a search term.

For example, teenagers would google pimples but a doctor may think about acne, and most people think of insurance payouts or payments whilst insurers talk about insurance benefits. Use the popular term to reach the customers :)

Drinking water is another good one. Often times, if I know I'm not actually hungry and I just -want- to eat, I'll make myself get a glass of water. If I still have the urge to eat in 15 minutes, I'll get a snack, but most times, the craving passes by then. Even if I do still decide to eat, I'm way less likely to binge.

There are some great tips.

I've definitely had to do the "be mean" bit before and the flat out ignoring them. That's not how I want to be to begin with, of course, but if they keep pushing or obviously aren't letting go, then it needs to happen. If there's absolutely no interest or chance of getting back together, then there's no reason to drag it out and let the other person cling to something that will never happen.

Perhaps if your target audience are experts in certain fields, the use of jargon is necessary. I've read IT articles and the articles are probably targeted to the IT experts because I cannot understand a word the articles are saying because it's full of jargon. It really depends on your target audience. If you want to target ordinary people then use less jargon.

You have more of a routine than we do!

Our routine as such varies with days because we have different activities on different days (e.g. kinder is twice a week, swimming lessons once a week, and the older two have after school activities that vary, too)

We have routines such as eating dinner together every night and quiet time after lunch, but the rest is played by ear according our kids' moods, the weather and outside commitments.

Predictability and power are important for kids and they get that from knowing what is next - it can be provided by routine (such as Thursday is swimming day) and by telling them (let's finish stacking the dishwasher then we'll read a book).

I have found that outsourcing one task at a time is easier and better than trying tout source a lot of work at once. I started by outsourcing my bookkeeping and loved the extra time and freedom it gave me.

You may be surprised at how much can be outsourced - strategy and relationship building I think need to be kept close, but almost everything else can be outsourced if you choose your providers carefully and match your business' needs.

Many people look at paying the invoice rather than the benefits, Snrm, so you're not alone in not realising outsourcing can be affordable.

The restaurant analogy is good, Classicnyer :)

Yes keywords can make a difference to your search engine results, but I like how you have pointed out it isn't the solution in every instance.

I like snrm's point about being truthful (i.e. use a keyword relevant to your website not just a keyword to rank for) and I would add making it a useful keyword - use a term real people would use rather than jargon or an obscure alternative.

Keywords are definitely important. I have been creating content on the Internet for a very long time now and I have always tried my best to utilize keywords in the best way I can. Using irrelevant keywords, no matter how popular & searched, will always end badly for you. Stick to the truth when creating keywords for your website and your online business will surely be acceptable. Thanks for sharing this so Internet newcomers will understand!
